Brendan Martin, AKA B. Martin, was first exposed to the rap scene in his junior year of high school in Colonie, NY. He was focused mainly on his grades, but couldn’t resist cultivating his newfound love for the lyric and flow that good rap is known for. Pretty soon, he conquered his high school rap scene by spitting flow in a way no one around him had ever heard before, and brought his following with him to college at SUNY Albany. Using social networking sites like Facebook to update his fans on shows and new music, his rising popularity in NY led him to win the Battle of the Bands at SUNY Albany.
This opened doors for Brendan, giving him the opportunity to perform at numerous venues as the featured artist and to open for key artists such as J Cole, Fabolous, Steve Aoki, Big Sean & Multiple Shows with Mac Miller. All the while, he maintained a 4.0 as a business major and traveled to Third World countries like Ecuador on humanitarian missions. With boundless energy and dynamic drive, Brendan managed to hit several high marks at such an early stage of his career, holding his own in an arena that not many white artists have found success and acceptance by fans and peers alike.
In late 2011, Brendan signed with Phase One Network, a label distributed through Sony RED. He released his highly anticipated mix CD “Ladies & Gentlemen” to rave reviews.
Shortly after this release, Brendan was hailed as Best New Hip Hop Artist by NY’s major hip hop radio station, HOT 97. His next single, “SWOOSH” earned him over 7 Million Views online, which ended up being part of his next Album: “Music, Love, Enemies.”
Most recently, B collabed with Juicy J for his hit single “I WANT IT ALL”.
Fans can expect to hear much more from this rising star, as he releases a new song on YouTube & Facebook every Monday for “Martin Mondays”!
